Understanding representation

What is a public adjuster?

A public adjuster is a licensed claim professional retained by the policyholder—not the insurance company—to assist with a first-party property insurance claim.

The role can include reviewing the loss and applicable policy provisions, documenting property damage, preparing an estimate, organizing supporting records, and communicating with the carrier during the adjustment process. The policyholder remains the client and makes the final decisions about the claim.

Public-adjusting services do not guarantee coverage or a particular claim outcome and do not replace legal counsel when legal advice is needed.

What we do

A stronger claim begins with a stronger file.

Every loss is different. Our work begins by understanding the facts, then building the documentation needed to present the claim clearly.

Claim strategy & policy review

A clear review of the loss, the claim position, and the policy provisions that shape the path forward.

Damage documentation

Methodical inspections, organized photographs, measurements, and supporting records built around the facts of the loss.

Professional estimating

Detailed scope development and Xactimate estimating designed to present the work required to restore the property.

Claim presentation & advocacy

Professional communication, supplemental documentation, and persistent representation throughout the adjustment process.

The Elevation approach

Prepared, thorough representation from inspection through resolution.

Property claims can become complicated quickly. Scope, pricing, causation, code requirements, and documentation all matter. Elevation Claims Group brings those moving pieces into one organized claim file and keeps clients informed along the way.

Start with a straightforward conversation

Claims we assist with

  • Wind & hail
  • Fire & smoke
  • Water damage
  • Structural damage
  • Residential property
  • Small commercial property

How it works

A clear process from uncertainty to direction.

01

Understand the loss

We begin with a focused conversation about the property, the damage, and where the claim currently stands.

02

Document the facts

We inspect, photograph, measure, organize, and estimate the damage with disciplined attention to detail.

03

Present the claim

We assemble a clear claim presentation and communicate directly with the insurance carrier on your behalf.

04

Advocate through resolution

We track the claim, address scope and valuation questions, and help you understand the proposed resolution.

A practical example

What representation can look like after a property loss.

The example below shows how an engagement may unfold. Every claim is different, and the actual path depends on the facts, timing, policy, carrier activity, and decisions of the property owner.

  1. 01

    The situation

A property owner is left with questions after a loss

After a Colorado storm, a homeowner notices roof damage and interior staining. A claim has been reported, but the full extent of the damage, the required repairs, and the documentation still need to be developed.

  2. 02

    Engagement

We learn where the claim stands

After a written engagement, we gather the policy, carrier correspondence, photographs, contractor documents, prior estimates, and other available records. We explain our role, the working process, and what information is still needed.

  3. 03

    File development

The facts are documented and organized

We inspect affected areas, take photographs and measurements, develop the repair scope, prepare an estimate, and organize the supporting material into a claim file built around the conditions observed.

  4. 04

    Claim adjustment

The claim is presented and coordinated

We present the documented claim, communicate with the carrier, participate in scheduled inspections, compare scopes and estimates, and provide relevant supplemental material when additional support is needed.

  5. 05

    Resolution

The client stays informed through the next decision

We track outstanding scope and valuation questions, explain claim activity in plain language, and help the client understand the proposed resolution. The client remains in control of settlement decisions throughout the process.
